Crete, located in southeast Nebraska, is a vibrant "community on the move" that embraces a pioneering heritage and present-day diversity. Crete is part of the nationwide Welcoming City program, part of Welcoming America, which pledges to work with all residents to create a welcoming community climate that supports long-term integration and inclusion, among many other initiatives.

Home to 7,037 residents with several major industries, including a successful public school district, lively local businesses, parks and recreational opportunities, and a nationally known liberal arts university.
