GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides daily cleaning and sanitizing of in-patient and assigned facility areas. Collects, removes and transports trash and soiled linen, replenishes supplies, and performs furniture arrangement for meeting rooms. Transports hot/cold foods and related supplies and equipment from the production facility to service location or patient care areas within the facility. Performs inventory and restocking duties. Performs a variety of dishwashing and cleaning services, serving duties and meal delivery to patient care areas. Completes work in accordance with department and Medical Center policies, procedures and infection control guidelines.

 

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Operates equipment, cleans in accordance with facility procedures, stores properly and reports issues to Guest and Nutrition Services leaders.
  • Maintains understanding of chemical use related to specific work areas and MSDS.
  • Explains, promotes and follows medical policies including safety, security and infection control policies and guidelines.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergencies according to procedure.
  • Maintains carts, shelves and work areas in a clean orderly fashion.
  • Routinely monitors appearance of the Medical Center, problem-solves and reports housekeeping or maintenance needs to the appropriate staff.
  • Performs washing and cleaning of kitchen supplies using manual or automated methods as directed.
  • Assembles food tray and delivers meals to patient care areas.
  • Accurately and effectively operates cash register and makes appropriate customer change.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Participates in meetings, committees and lean projects as assigned.
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be 16 years of age or older. Previous custodial, janitor or cleaning experience preferred. Previous experience operating food production equipment preferred.
