General Summary: 

 

 Must have current ARDMS registry in pediatric echocardiography.

 

Adjunct Faculty appointments are made for specified courses and for a specified term or terms as needed. 

 

The Adjunct Faculty of the College of Health Sciences demonstrates implementation of the mission, vision, goals and values of the College as well as the philosophy of the division in which he/she is assigned. 

 

The Adjunct Faculty is responsible for development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the theoretical and clinical components of assigned courses.  Demonstrates the ability to teach in individual, small and large group settings and functions under the direction of the Dean of the program.  Participates in ongoing systematic evaluation activities as assigned.

 

Principal Job Functions: 

 

1.       *Plans, implements and evaluates educational activities according to College policies, course credits, course objectives and available resources.

2.      *Relates professionally to colleagues and serves in faculty roles of advisor, mentor, role model, advocate, facilitator and competent educator.

3.       *Utilizes instructional methods which promote student development of critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and life long learning.

4.      *Conveys knowledge and principles of the field of study clearly and concisely in the educational setting.

5.       *Manages the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience.

6.      *Adapts teaching to varied delivery methods including distance-learning options if applicable.

7.       *Initiates communication about concerns or problems with appropriate personnel.

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Basic Nursing Assistant Instructor:  Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.  Must provide evidence of certification or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations.  Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience required.  Documentation of completion of a course in teaching adults or experience in teaching adults or supervising Nurse Aides required.

 

General Education (Undergraduate Level):  Master's degree with minimum of eighteen (18) graduate credits completed in area of teaching responsibility required.  Doctoral degree preferred.  Previous teaching experience preferred.
