GENERAL SUMMARY:

Utilizes the latest technology and analytical tools to provide accurate and timely reporting of financial information. Supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement process for Bryan Health entities, as well as the Consolidated Bryan Health System financial statements. Supports the preparation of the annual capital and operating budgets and pro forma analysis. Provides support to the auditors during the annual financial statement audits, as well as similar audits.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  2. *Completes financial analyses, report preparation, journal entries and detailed review and analysis of general accounting processes.
  3. Assesses customer needs and makes necessary improvements to general accounting functions within accepted standards.
  4. *Serves as the transactional lead on one or more of the following areas:  fixed assets and cash and the corresponding analysis of this data for potential process improvement.
  5. Assists with the support of the Capital Management System.
  6. Assists with the support of the Cash Posting System and reconciliation tasks performed by the entities.
  7. *Serves as a contact for analysis of financial information and other customer support.
  8. *Provides integral assistance to auditors as it relates to areas of expertise.
  9. *Meets all period and year-end closing schedules.
  10. Develops the annual depreciation expense budgets for all entities within Bryan Health.
  11. *Maintains subsidiary ledgers as assigned and verifies reconciliation to the general ledger.
  12. *Maintains the Fixed Asset system for Bryan Health and related entities and associated depreciation schedules, prepares monthly journal entries and ensures proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
  13. *Reconciles and maintains cash accounts for Bryan Health and related entities.
  14. Prepares regulatory reports including personal property tax and unclaimed property.
  15. *Maintains the finance and operating lease schedules for Bryan Health and related entities; prepares monthly journal entries and ensures proper recording of new leases.
  16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  17. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
  18. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting or finance-related bachelor’s degree preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in a professional accounting position preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Experience in a healthcare environment or large hospital desired.
