The Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider provides medical services to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed physician within the supervising physician’s scope of practice. They’re responsible to provide acute, chronic and preventative health care in collaboration with the cardiologist in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The APP manages patietns by assessing, diagnosing, coordinating care, educating, and documenting pertinent information with the supervising physician to meet patient care, clinical, hospital and national guidelines. They serve as a resource and educator for patients, family members, and fellow staff. Services include but are not limited to: clinical evaluation of patients; ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests; prescription of pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacologic therapies; and teaching and counseling individuals and groups.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

APRN/NP:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school for APRN/NP. Current Nebraska state license to practice medicine as an APRN/NP and Registered Nurse (RN). Active and current certification through either American Nurses Credentialling Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Current DEA licensure. Continued CME to satisfy state, licensing board, and stroke certification requirements.

PA-C:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Physician Assistant. Current Nebraska state licensure to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant. Active and current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current DEA Licensure. Continued CME to satisfy state, licensing board, and stroke certification requirements.

 

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network. 

Advanced Life Support (ACLS) is required
