ABOUT THE ROLE:
Responsible for and is proficient in all functions of the department including receptionist duties, scheduling and admitting of patients.
Assists pharmacy in clerical responsibilities in 340B compliance reporting, aiding in patient financial assistance paperwork to help with pharmacy coverage and other clerical responsibilities in the pharmacy. Responsible to help float across departments to help where needed during surge times with scope of practice capabilities.

- Performs opening and closing tasks of the department.
- Ensures scheduling processes are followed and patient appointments are scheduled and rescheduled in a timely manner; utilizes computer to input data and retrieve information as appropriate; coordinates exams and treatments with appropriate departments and outside offices.
- Epic Super User (Cadence) for the department. Shares Epic updates with department, trains co-workers and new personnel on work related duties pertaining to Cadence.
- Provides phone coverage for department. Screens phone calls, relays messages in a timely fashion and provides information to callers as appropriate.
- Manages and maintains work queues as assigned.
- Sorts and routes incoming departmental mail. Delivers out-going department mail.
- Orders and stocks supplies for the Department.
- Performs photocopying, faxing, printing, and distribution of information within the department.
- Works collaboratively with the Health Information Department to ensure all patient chart documentation is accurate and available. Ensures prior authorization information is documented in the electronic health record in a timely manner.
- Keeps all department forms and computer information up to date. Communicates with Patient Access when changes occur.
- Receives, greets, and directs patients, providers, visitors, and team members by telephone or in person; provides/relays accurate responses in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner; maintains confidentiality as required
- Accurately transcribes provider orders.
- Accurately documents pertinent information in the electronic health record.
- Assists pharmacy with 340B compliance reporting.
- Assists pharmacy with patient financial assistance forms.
- Assists pharmacy with clerical responsibilities including reports, invoices, and scheduling work queues.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates in meetings, committees and lean projects as assigned.
YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent – required
- Prior patient accounts or registration/scheduling experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting – desired
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – required within three (3) months of employment
